- Marvin Bell Obituary
Mr. Marvin J. Bell, 78, of Clovis died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 21, 1927, in Blacktower to Barnett and Hettie (Brownlow) Bell.
He married Lena B. Williams Nov. 7, 1944, in Farwell. He Bell served in the U.S. Navy and later worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. He worked as a carman and later took a job as a traveling car inspector. In 1982 he moved to Topeka as chief Car inspector. He retired in 1989 and in 1996 moved to Clovis .
He was a member of Advent Christian Church.
Family members said he loved to cut grass and water his tree. He coached the National Little League Pirates for four years.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Judy Stone (and husband, David) of Aurora, Ill.; two sons, Robert Bell (Christine) of San Diego, Calif., and James Bell (Joyce) of Aurora, Ill.; two sisters, Jo Corbin (Travis) of Canon City, Colo., and Jan Pringle (Bill) of Clovis; a brother, Charles Bell (Clovis), 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Bell.
The Rev. Travis Corbin will officiate services.
Burial will follow at Texico Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Advent Christian Church in Clovis.
Arrangements are being handled by Steed-Todd Funeral Home.
