- Based on his place in the list of his siblings found in his father’s will, Alan Brownlow was probably born about 1510. He was a son of Henry Brownlow and Margaret. He made his will on February 12, 1548/9. In his will, he describes himself as being “one of the sonnes of Henry Brownlow late of the Byggyng.” He also stated that he intended to “voyage to London and then to leynd my self unto some occupation.” In his will, he mentioned his brother in law Roger Storer, Agnes, daughter of Roger Storer, Elizabeth Brownlow his sister, his mother, his brother William Brownlow, John the son of Thomas Maddok of Atlow, his brother Thomas Brownlow and, father in law Robert Hetheley. He died in London, and his estate was inventoried by Thomas Maddock and Henry Lylee. He never married, and he had no children.
