Family-Placed Death Notice
Mr. Roy "Mickey" Brownlow died Sunday, May 16, 2004. Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home in Marietta. Rev. Bill Crosland officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. Born in Atlanta, Mickey proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. Upon his return home, he went into business with his father, Roy Mathew Brownlow, and together they started Brownlow & Sons Remodeling Company. He was well loved by his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and working in his garden, and was known for having a green thumb, growing tomatoes, vegetables, and sharing them with family and friends. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Harding Lassiter Brownlow, son and daughter-in-law, Roy Lynn and Stephanie Brownlow; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Andrew B. Wilson; grandchildren, Andrea Wilson Tyre, Lisa Wilson Trujillo, Virginia Wilson and Kimberly Wilson; and brother, Dean Brownlow. In lieu of flowers donations to National Kidney Foundation, 2951 Flowers Rd., Ste 211, Atlanta, GA. 30341. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home 770-432-0771.
